Baby Shower

Yesterday some of my lovely friends and family hosted a baby shower honoring Noah. Even though this is my 3rd boy, I'm still glad I got to have one... I just like for each baby to feel special even if we don't need a whole lot. I think I actually registered for more this time than I did when I was pregnant with Eli. Mostly because some things are just so worn down by your third (like towels and burp cloths and such). I also registered for new bedding so I could change up the nursery a little bit (I used the same bedding with Caleb and Eli).

Tons of my friends showed up to celebrate Noah and I was so thankful... especially since it was literally pouring down rain and cold. I am certainly a spoiled gal! And we got so much stuff.

My mom got his bedding (so excited!) and my lovely hostesses got my diaper bag. Those were my "big" items, so I was thankful to get those. Plus I'm absolutely in love with those two things! Now we are definitely ready to get the ball rolling on putting the finishing touches on the nursery and getting everything organized before his arrival (only 11 more weeks!). I still have not touched the boxes of clothes that need to be sorted and washed and put into the changing table drawers. I also need to go find all the other baby items (swing, chair, gym mat, high chair, car seat, etc) and get those sanitized and set up.

We also got loads of diapers, wipes, towels, wash cloths, pacifiers, and all those little things that add up but certainly need to be replenished. And I love getting monogrammed bibs, burp cloths, and those sorts of things. I definitely got some cute ones! Of course I ended up getting double of a few things and have some gifts cards, so with that money I'll be buying hangers, nursing/feeding accessories, medicine things for baby, grooming things, changing pad cover, a Puj Tub, more diapers, probably a new mattress cover thing, and other necessities like that. I'm so thankful for such generous friends and family! We will most certainly be prepared when Noah arrives.

I totally forgot I need a new Boppy, too, so my mom will be getting me that along with new covering for the Moses basket (one of my most coveted items the first two months) and the cradle. These things wouldn't need to be replaced but I've gotten them monogramed with the boys' names each time. :) Seth also wants to look into a baby monitor...one of those fancy ones you can use on your phone. I had no idea he wanted a monitor since I never used one with the other two... but I walked in yesterday from the shower and he goes, "did we get a monitor, can I see it?" Ha, oops. I didn't even register for one. (We got a video monitor with Caleb, and used it on occasion, but their rooms were close enough to ours that if they woke up, I could hear them without the monitor).

Thank you to everyone who came yesterday. We appreciate your friendship and generosity!!!!! Below are some pictures of the lovely shower. There are not very many "posed" pictures... really none at all. Everyone was too busy chatting and catching up to stop and pose, I guess. And there were so many other people there that my mom didn't get a picture of! The shower theme was "Ties/Little Man" and was so cute. The colors were actually supposed to be green and blue, but when Amanda had the invitation together she realized that the tie we thought was blue on the computer was actually brown! Ha! So strange... She searched for another navy tie and even red that would coordinate, but couldn't find one... So she just went with it and it all turned out so adorable. Another side note: the intention for the shower was to use the party room at my parent's condo on Friday night, order some Mexican food, and just hang out-- casual and simple. But, my sister wasn't coming in til late Friday night so that wouldn't work and the room was booked the rest of the weekend.... so then my mom was going to rent out the room at Joe T's for Saturday afternoon, but that didn't work out either. So thank you to Brenda for opening her home to accommodate!

The lovely hostessess: Erin, Sarah, Brenda, me, Mom, and Lindsey (Amanda wasn't able to make it from Mississippi).
Noah's banner:

Favors for the guests to take. I thought these were especially cute:

Adorable cupcakes that matched the green tie. They look white in the picture, but they actually matched the tie on the invite:
Sort of a picture of the food table. Chick-fil-a nuggets, homemade pizza roll ups, sandwiches, artichoke dip, chocolate covered strawberries and other yummy munchies (what's left of it anyways):

A watermelon buggy. Several years for my birthday my mom would make me a watermelon basket, so it was neat having a buggy:

Opening presents. Don't mind my fat face:

Leslie, Tamara, Jill, Kelsey, and Haley:

Heather and Tracy:

Lots of friends (Lauren, Sarah, Julie, Tamara, Amanda, Cathy, and Tracy):

More friends. We obviously were in deep conversation (Peluse, Meesey, Shannon):

More chit chatting:

This diaper bag was a hit. Checking it out:

Baby Sadie:

Mandy and her girls, Georgia and Emily:

A cute diaper cake tricycle made by Sarah Ingram. I so can't do stuff like that:

All in all, it was a fabulous shower! And thank you again to those that made it so special.
