Baby Update

Pregnancy is coming to a close and I couldn't be more excited! I'm really thankful for having such a healthy pregnancy, but I tell ya, the 3rd one really does a toll on your joints and muscles. With the other two pregnancies, I had very minimal body aches and pains and really no trouble sleeping. Just your typical pregnancy stuff! I was more tired with the other two than anything else. But this one, wow! What a difference. I wake up aching and go to bed aching. It's just weird. And annoying. People told me the third one would be a doozy, but I didn't really believe them. Now I do. And I didn't even mention the poor quality sleep.

They did a sonogram on Wednesday to measure Noah and like I suspected, he's huge! Caleb was 9 lbs 6 oz at only 4 days early and Eli was 8 lbs 6 oz at about 12 days early. And considering that each baby gets bigger with each pregnancy, then I knew for sure Noah would not be on the small side. The sonograms are not completely accurate, but they are predicting him to be between 8.5 and 9 lbs! That's even at 2 weeks early... oh my! :) But, I don't care how big or small he is as long as he's healthy!!!!! (We still don't know anymore about his finger... the pediatrician will take a look at him once he's here and assess the situation. So more info on that front will be coming after delivery. Just pray that it's nothing significant and not linked to a genetic issue.)

As far as I go, things are still trucking along nicely. I'm puffy, fat, and miserable. And I'm eating more Tums than food. Which about sums up the last few weeks of pregnancy for anyone! No, I really shouldn't complain because things are going really well! Blood pressure is good, weight gain is around 24 lbs and I'm dilated about half a cm. The doctor said he was being generous when he made that assessment, so really I think I'm closer to zero, but I am dilated a bit. Which, I guess, is better than nothing! The doctor is out of town all next week, so I'll visit with a different doctor. Then the following week we'll get the induction and all that business set in stone! My last full week of work was this past week... the next 2 weeks I will only be working on Fridays. Woohoo! I would have loved to just take off now until the end of school without going back 2 days, but I didn't want to mess with filing FMLA and getting a doctor's note. But I'm excited nonetheless and am thankful I'll be able to get lots done around the house that I still need to do.... like finish the nursery, find the carseat, sanitize bottles, pacis, nursing accessories, pack a hospital bag, etc etc. Not to mention messing with disability, messing with insurance crap, and other obnoxious tasks. Oh, and one day the boys are at preschool, you'll be able to find me at Daired's getting my hair and toes done. Don't think I won't use some of the time for just myself!:)

I would appreciate your prayers for a continued healthy pregnancy for me and Noah. You can even begin praying for a smooth, complicated-free, safe delivery for the both of us and that the boys transition nicely with adding another brother! :)
